"That's what friends are for."
Who: [livejournal.com profile] gotstarpower and [livejournal.com profile] davidwarbler
What: A surprise visitor
Where: The Hummel/Rushton rental in NYC
When: A couple of days after Blaine's flu
Rating: PG

With Blaine needing to be separated from Kurt while he fought of the nasty flu bug, Kurt was trying to make sure Blaine wasn't on his own too much and had people to take care of him when he wasn't feeling well. Mercedes was more than happy to volunteer for the job, but Blaine really wasn't in the best of moods when she got to Burt and Carole's place where he was staying while Burt slept on the couch back with Kurt for any help needed. Blaine just wasn't in the mood for being babysat, though, and his patience was wearing thing with everyone around him. He wanted to be at home, but he knew this was the best thing for Kurt. He wouldn't protest it, but that didn't mean he had to be happy about it.

After giving up on trying to get him to eat some chicken soup, Mercedes managed to convince Blaine to watch a DVD with her but they were barely fifteen minutes into the film before he fell asleep wrapped up in a cocoon of blankets, so she just turn the sound down low and read through some of Holly's magazines instead. She watched him sleep for a little bit, not even being able to imagine how he was feeling or what was going through his head. He was doing everything he was supposed to do to fight the flu so he could get back to Kurt, but the patience to actually wait it out was wearing thin. He was still upset about not being with Kurt for their first anniversary too, which was probably a lot of why he was in a whole mood of not really wanting anyone to be around him. Sometimes, you just wanted to curl up in a ball and be miserable without anyone trying to tell you it will all be alright.

When the apartment buzzer sounded, though, causing Blaine to stir in his sleep and mumble something unintelligible, Mercedes shot up out of her chair to go and answer the door. It was a familiar face that greeted her, though and she gave a small, tilting her head. "It's David, right? One of Blaine's Warbler pals. I remember you from school. You were, like, one of the leader dudes. You hear to cheer up our lil ray of sunshine, are you?"
