Quinn FabrayWhat? Of old loves and new beginnings
When? Simultaneous to

On Mondays, Quinn's classes were all early in the day, and she ordinarily would've gone straight home to check in on Kurt. But a quick text to Puck was met with the assurance that nothing had really changed, and Kurt was about the same as he had been when she'd left the house that morning. It was actually a gorgeous day, and Quinn had decided against going home right away, instead opting to stop at a takeout place, then take her food for a solitary picnic of sorts in Central Park.
The pregnancy scare had turned out to just be too much for her relationship with Lucas, and while they were definitely still friends, they'd decided that, to stay friends, they needed to cut their losses on the dating front. It wasn't meant to be, and they were adult enough to realize that early instead of trying to hold onto something that wasn't working.
She'd just finished eating alone on a park bench, and was thinking about heading to the train station to take the train home, when she glanced up to see a very familiar face indeed walking in her general direction. Few people in the world immediately recognized the difference between Jeremy and Sebastian Smyth, but Quinn did. It was easy to recognize the difference when she'd once dated Jeremy -- perhaps even been in love with him, if she were honest. Everyone had a story of the one that got away, and for Quinn that would always be Jeremy. They'd dated for a while, keeping their relationship private to themselves along the way, if for no other reason than the fact that Quinn was Kurt's fag hag, and Jeremy's twin was very much not on Kurt's favorite people list. That was only one of the reasons, though, a great many of them being tied up in Quinn's own insecurities about commitment and intimacy; when she had felt herself falling for Jeremy, knowing that things like that came with the territory, she'd pushed him away... fought him every step, and finally told him that, because of her friendship with Kurt, they couldn't continue their relationship.
So seeing him out and about like this in Central Park came as a bit of a shock to the system. Despite the close connections that had come to light between the Smyth family and Kurt's family/situation, Quinn had somehow managed to avoid seeing Jeremy at all. But that wasn't exactly a possibility right now as he was getting closer to her. There was no escaping this, and she caught his gaze just in time to see the flash of recognition there, giving him a small wave.
