What? That awkward moment when your friend's ex is awesome.
When? A couple of days post Niff night of drunkenness
Where? Apple Store
Rating: PG-13ish
A couple of nights in a hotel bed had done little to improve Jeff's mood, and neither had the fact that his iPhone decided to start acting glitchy the night he'd left Kurt's place. It had cut off on him in conversation with Kayla a couple of times, which he wasn't sure whether to blame on the phone, or on karma. He hated few things more than lying, and he was doing it every time he talked to her... forcing himself to put on a happy face... or voice, as he was avoiding her requests for video chat online by saying he wasn't feeling well, and he looked like crap. She'd offered, most condescendingly, to come take care of him, but he'd declined. He couldn't see her right now.
Standing in line at the store, waiting for someone to check his phone, Jeff glanced around to see a familiar face... Kurt's ex, Andrew... He recognized him right away from a week or so before when he'd stopped by Kurt's place to drop something off for Blaine. He remembered being struck with how good-looking the guy was, and that it said a lot for him that he was willing to help Blaine so much after Blaine had more or less stolen his boyfriend and married him.
He wasn't really sure if Andrew was close enough to Kurt to have heard anything about what happened, or the fact that Jeff had just left, but he figured it was rude not to say hi, especially if Andrew noticed that he was there and had ignored him. He caught the other guy's eye and gave him a friendly, if subdued, wave.
