Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts? Just a cage of rib bones & other various parts
Who? [livejournal.com profile] bad2theboner and [livejournal.com profile] warble_on_jeff
What? That awkward moment when your friend's ex is awesome.
When? A couple of days post Niff night of drunkenness
Where? Apple Store
Rating: PG-13ish

A couple of nights in a hotel bed had done little to improve Jeff's mood, and neither had the fact that his iPhone decided to start acting glitchy the night he'd left Kurt's place. It had cut off on him in conversation with Kayla a couple of times, which he wasn't sure whether to blame on the phone, or on karma. He hated few things more than lying, and he was doing it every time he talked to her... forcing himself to put on a happy face... or voice, as he was avoiding her requests for video chat online by saying he wasn't feeling well, and he looked like crap. She'd offered, most condescendingly, to come take care of him, but he'd declined. He couldn't see her right now.

Standing in line at the store, waiting for someone to check his phone, Jeff glanced around to see a familiar face... Kurt's ex, Andrew... He recognized him right away from a week or so before when he'd stopped by Kurt's place to drop something off for Blaine. He remembered being struck with how good-looking the guy was, and that it said a lot for him that he was willing to help Blaine so much after Blaine had more or less stolen his boyfriend and married him.

He wasn't really sure if Andrew was close enough to Kurt to have heard anything about what happened, or the fact that Jeff had just left, but he figured it was rude not to say hi, especially if Andrew noticed that he was there and had ignored him. He caught the other guy's eye and gave him a friendly, if subdued, wave.

"Out on the streets looking good... deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain't right."
Who: [livejournal.com profile] nickthewarbler and [livejournal.com profile] singslikeagirl
What: Heart2Heart
Where: Kurt and Blaine's place
When: A couple of days after THIS
Rating: PG, for now

It had been nearly two whole days since Jeff had left and Nick had spent most of that wallowing in his own misery. That wasn't usually him, he usually took things in his stride, but for some reason, losing his best friend had knocked him down with a thump and it felt like he couldn't get back up again. He missed Jeff, but he couldn't deal with the bullshit fallout from what they had done, and he certainly couldn't deal with sitting around listening to Jeff act like everything was perfect with his girlfriend. He couldn't recognise he was jealous, and envious Jeff had someone and he didn't, he was just pissed off and hurt, and that was all-encompassing for him right now.

He was sat in a cocoon of a quilt on Kurt and Blaine's sofa channel-surfing as he sipped his tepid coffee, not being bothered to get up and make a fresh cup. It was mid-morning and he was trying to keep a low profile because Blaine had woken up with a raging migraine that morning and Kurt wanted the place understandably quiet. Which suited Nick fine, because he had no intentions of moving from the lump he had become on the sofa, except to eat, use the bathroom, and taking his insulin. Anything else could wait as far as he was concerned. But he was surprised when Kurt came into the room then and sat down beside Nick on the sofa, giving him a Look. Nick blinked and bit down on his lip momentarily. "How's Blaine...?" he asked, wishing he could dodge his way out of the line of that Look Kurt was piercing him with. Something was coming, he knew it.
